Fife Business Awards 2024.jpg

Now this one came out of the blue and was very unexpected but we are very please to have been shortlisted for Family Business of the Year 2024 at the Fife Business Awards. We will find out on Friday 7th June if we have won - fingers crossed and also a massive well done to all those shortlisted.

2023 saw us shortlisted once more for Family Business Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.  Whilst we didn't make it to the awards ceremony in London or manage to scope the main prize we feel truly blessed to have been recognised amongst so many amazing businesses.  A massive congratulations to Mimis Bakehouse, Edinburgh who walked away with the Scotland and Northern Ireland Family Business Entrepreneur of the Year 2023.  Well done.

So we were very fortunate enough to be shortlisted once again for Fife Family Business of the Year at the Courier Business Awards 2022. The awards took place at the Apex Hotel, Dundee on the 29th October 2022 - it was a very glitzy affair.  Whilst we did not take away the prize - Fisher and Donaldson won in our category and to be honest you cant beat a fudge donut or coffee tower! We are so grateful to have been shortlisted amongst such amazing and well established businesses. We had a great night as we were able to take 2 of our 3 children along to celebrate with us - it truly was a family affair.  We ate great food, mingled with amazing people and danced into the night.

Winning Family Business Entrepreneur of the Year category at the 2021 Great British Entrepreneur Awards for the Scotland & Northern Ireland region was a very proud moment for everyone at Blue Star St Andrews! It also came as a massive shock and was very unexpected.

Whilst we didn't make it down to the awards on the 22nd November 2021 at Grosvenor House Hotel, London we followed each award via social media and felt blessed just being nominated alongside such prestigious and well known businesses - never mind going on to win the award!  This award represents our hardworking team and loyal service users - without them none of this would be possible! So we just want to say a massive thank you for your continued support.

Blue Star were lucky enough to attend the Fife Retail Business Awards at the Rothes Hall, Glenrothes on Sunday 23rd February 2020.  These awards are voted for by the public so we are extremely grateful that we were not only shortlisted but won in the category for "Best Service Business".  This was a massive team effort and we were over the moon, so you can imagine our surprise when we then scooped "The Consumer Award".  We were meant to attend the Grand Final in Glasgow in May 2020 but due to lockdown this has been posponed. Please keep voting, we may still scoop a National Award.....fingers crossed for when this is rescheduled!

Its extremely important to us and our staff to have a better understanding of illnesses that may affect our service users. With a better understanding and knowledge we can deliver a service that truly meets the needs of our service users.  In March 2019 our staff all attended a training course to become a dementia friend - this is open to both businesses and individuals that want to raise awareness of dementia and help remove the stigma that is attached.  For more information about this please click on the Dementia Friends image.
